Chiaroscuro

Artist Paul Colin often uses a color method Chiaroscuro. Chiaroscuro is defined as in drawing and painting, the use of light and dark to create the effect of three- dimensional, modeled surrfaces. The painting I used was a perfect fit of Chiaroscuro coloring. The painting is called "Maya. In 8 scenes by Simon Gantillon". What caught my attention was the transition of the woman shaded in black in white to color. I noticed the figure of the woman was getting more and more detailed. The use of color made the woman look three dimensional.
